1. Let the bead touch your skin, at the chest or as a wrist piece.
2. Before wearing, soak it in clean water or Ganga jal for a few minutes, then dry it and apply a drop of sandalwood oil.
3. On a Monday morning, after a bath, chant "Om Hreem Namah" and "Om Namah Shivaya" 108 times, then wear it.

1. You can also pass it through the smoke of incense (agarbatti) or dhoop a few times.
